LCDC is awarding an Annual Economic Development Grant to a deserving business(es) in Lake County!

In 2023 The Lake County Development Council launched an Annual Economic Development Grant. It is awarded every year at the Annual Economic Forum. The grant can be utilized alongside other local, county, state, and federal incentive programs.

This funding is designed to enhance growth and productivity through investments in infrastructure, business innovation, and employee skills development.

This one-time incentive will range from $500-$2,500 depending the the applicants’ qualifications, as well as the number of annual contributions. All applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to receive the Lake County Development Council Economic Development Grant, grant recipients must fit the following criteria:

  • Grant recipients are required to have a one (1) and three (3) year business plan.
  • Grant recipients are required to have a physical premise/brick and mortar located in Lake County, Ohio – with at minimum, a one (1) year lease. If the recipient works out of their home, they must follow the proper zoning regulations/license, to prove that they are registered and bonded with the city that they are based out of (within Lake County, Ohio).
  • Grant recipients are required to maintain membership to the Lake County Development Council for at least two (2) consecutive years once awarded the grant.
  • Grant recipients are required to speak at the following year’s Economic Forum Breakfast to share how they’ve used to the grant funds and the impact this process has had on their business.
  • Grant recipients are required to set up a mid-way progress report meeting with LCDC’s Grant Committee.
