Laketran Hiring Event – Seeking Transit Drivers

Laketran hosts Hiring Event to recruit transit drivers – Event offers guaranteed interviews with goal to fill 30 part-time bus driver positions

Lake County, OH – Laketran is excited to announce a hiring event to fill 30 part-time bus driver positions to operate its Dial-a-Ride service. Drivers will primarily serve seniors and people with disabilities and provide assistance helping customers get around Lake County and to nearby Cuyahoga County medical facilities.

Interviews are guaranteed to all applicants attending the event on Thursday, March 7 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeland Community College H-Building at 7700 Clocktower Dr. Kirtland, OH 44094.

“Being a public transit driver offers excellent career prospects at any point in life. Many part-time drivers progress to full-time roles, building long-lasting careers, while others find fulfillment post-retirement,” stated Laketran CEO Ben Capelle. “Our Hiring Event aims to raise awareness about transit careers and recruit individuals dedicated to serving our community.”

A valid Ohio driver’s license is required for an interview. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required for hire. All applicants must pass a background check, drug-test, ODOT physical and be available for six-week training class that begins Monday, March 25.
